Looking for some "TREASURES"

This last Saturday and Sunday Jess and I went to The Riverside Flea Market in Grafton, Il.  It's a small show for us compared to all the others we do. However......after the big one we just got done with, it was an easy show and it gave us the opportunity to look for things we could use.  I am STILL looking for vintage
TINKER TOYS!!!!

This market is inside an old boat marina right off of the river.  It gets a big crowd because of  "The Loading Dock" http://www.graftonloadingdock.com/

Our booth was right inside the door so we had a great breeze off the River.  This is Jess walking early in the morning before people were there. (she will be happy to see her picture ha ha!)

What a gorgeous weekend it was!

This was a cute booth inside.

I wanted this bed for a display piece but was reminded I had no more room to haul this around.

They say....
One man's junk is another man's treasures. Who wants this?  Not me!

This was my big purchase this weekend.  Bags of beautiful doilies.  Some of these I will hand dye and they will become part of a scarf.  I made some last year....they sold really fast!  This past year I have been collecting these so I can make more.  I will post some pictures of them another time when they are done.

As always I am looking forward to "Kane County"  this weekend.  This show....... I could fill a semi with my finds!  It's a good thing I don't have one cause I'd be broke.
We will be in the "Rabbit" building... booth 8 and 9 this time down on the other end......Hope to See YOU there.

A few Pictures from "The Festival of the Little Hills"

I forget from show to show sometimes how hard it is to leave our booth to take pictures.  Especially at Festivals where there are sooo many people!   Here are just a few pic's from the Festival of the Little Hills.

We hung this chandelier up in our booth, it gave off good light and set the mood.......it's kinda  hard outside to look your best so we do whatever we can!

A few shoppers in our booth....

This was a beautiful courtyard across the street from our booth.

I love this old home and it's yard.

This next week we will be at Grafton, Illinois near the Loading Dock.  Hope to find some cool vintage pieces for our next project!

Historic St. Charles Mo.

We are looking forward to this weekend!  Whats going on?  "The Festival of the little Hills" in St. Charles Mo.

We prepare all year long for this one.  It is usually really  hot and humid...sounds good doesn't it?  For us....we need to be in pretty good shape being able to withstand the weather and long show hours.   I try every year to loose as much weight as I can just for this show!!!!   (I didn't have great success this time but that's a whole other story)  Anyway, for everyone else who attends...it's not too bad.  They have many air conditioned places to go into like cute little shops and restaurants!

There are many vendors on Main St. and Frontier Park.  It is a juried show so they do hand pick their artisans.  I always have enjoyed "Christmas" shopping here because there are sooo many GOOD BOOTHS!  Many of our Customers are "Christmas" shopping too!  Can you believe it's only 4 months away?

Anyway,
after the show I will post some pictures of my favorites.  As for our customers, we can't wait to see you. We are both working night and day all week, (right up to Fri. morning) for new things just for you.  Mention this blog for a discount off of your purchase!!!!   See you This Weekend....

KANE COUNTY FLEA MARKET

This last weekend we set up at Kane County in St. Charles, Il.  It was sooo HOT again!  But, regardless of the heat, people came out....lots of people!  Jess and I were so busy but  managed to get a few pictures of our favorites near us. Our Tussie Mussies pictured above (we showed them last week on Facebook) are all gone but we are working on more for this week along with other surprises.

I have always loved this booth. Look at that mirror!!!  It was too big for my SUV so I didn't get it :o(

This was a booth in one of the buildings.  I talked to one of the girls from "Cathy and Me" and she told me she used to have a shop and now she is doing shows.  She had alot of neat stuff.

Cute little desk.  I bought the BIG frame!  I will be putting a fabric board in it to hang jewelry, picture's or whatever....

We loved her furniture!

Love the flowers....

This was some metal sculpture outside.  Look at those faces!   You can find almost anything here.
Hope you enjoyed Kane County!  This weekend we will be in Mendota, Il (up near Chicago) at The "Sweetcorn Festival"  It's a really big deal.  This festival has been going on for 64 years!  We pray the weather is cooler and NO rain too.
See you next time....

The very BEST is at "The Randolph Street Market"

I have never been in one location where every booth has great stuff and knows how to stage it!  If you know me you know how important display is....I spend a fortune on pieces to showcase our work!  Anyway, I took a few pictures of my favorite booths as I went for food and bathroom breaks....Here they are.
I will start with a few from our booth first.
This mirror caught a glimpse of Zelda who displays chains.
A cool old box I found at an antique mall by my house holds little treasures like our belt buckles.
Old photos I am obsessed with...hold some little charm necklaces.
This booth had retro looking lamps they made.
A cute little iron patio or kitchen set.
neat barstools
These things are made from old tin ceiling tiles.  They also come to Kane County.  Love this!!!
Does anyone need a bedspread?
I am a sucker for old luggage....great display pieces!
Need any vintage clothes?
 How about a hat!
Cowboy boots are the rage!
I love dress forms...they also do Kane County inside the Main Building.
More bar stools.....
This was a booth across from us.
Antique Kitchen----The very best place to eat....I have tried everything on the menu!

This booth had some cool things!
For anyone who thinks Flea Markets are junkie....You don't go to the ones that we do.  Beware, once you start going you can't quit!  If its fashion or home decor you will find it!  I hope you enjoyed the Randolph Street Market. http://www.randolphstreetmarket.com/
Hope to see you this weekend at The Kane County Flea.  Until next time     XXOO
