The Lipstik Show

This past weekend we did a local show.  The Lipstik Show is produced by The Belleville News.  The show consisted of local businesses and artists selling their goods.  We were busy and didn't have much time to snap pictures but got a few of our favorite booths near us.
A special thank you to Patty, Teresa H. and all the girls for all you do for us.  Thanks for having us in your show!

This booth was a previous winner on The Ultimate Cake Off on TLC. Visit them @  www.PAT-T-CAKES .com
(we went off of our diet for a minute to share one of these!)

This is a floral shop that also has some cool purses!

Of course, we had a booth too.  This is one of our customers who picked out charms, to put together a custom necklace.
She did a great job designing it!

Thanks for coming out and shopping with us!

An IDEA for you!

Occasionally I make purses.  One-of-a-kind, of course.  I was looking for something else and ran across these I made last year.  I decided not to sell them. (made them only for me)  But, for those of you who are a little crafty here is the recipe!   Get this.....they are made out of those plastic bags you get at the grocery store and Wal-Mart!

Yes, I did say plastic bags!  The first thing you will need to do is take about 4 to 6 bags cut out the bottom and down the side.  Lay them flat on top of each otherNext, you will fuse them together by ironing them.  Put a cloth on top of the bags and iron over them.  They will melt (fuse) together!
Here comes the fun part....take acrylic paint and do some funky design.  After it is dried  you will sew all kinds of stitches (on the sewing machine) on the painted fused bag.

Fold your bag in thirds.  Trim it to size. Sew some fun fabric on the inside for the lining.  With some left over scraps I made a little tab and sewed on the front.  Matte spray the painted part to protect it from chipping.  The chain (which is optional) is a necklace that I hand sewed into each side.  Then I embellished the front with a big button!

You can use your purse as a clutch bag by putting the chain inside!  This isn't any everyday purse but, a fun one you can use at times you want something out of the ordinary!

Enjoy....XXOO.....Tjody

This past weekend at.......3rd Sunday Market

Type Key pieces continue to be a hit in making charm necklaces and bracelets!  We made dozens of them big and small....
Customers also picked up tokens and vintage keys.
And of course our soldered charms.....This month we did a few holiday necklaces with Halloween and  Old St. Nick.   These  can be removed from your necklace when the holidays are over.

Here is a really big one with lots of stuff we made for a sample.  It sold too...Big or Little everyone has their own style.  Isn't it good we all don't look alike?

Here is another one done up with vintage jewelry, prisms, chains and pearls.  This style is not for the SHY!
We had a good time seeing what everyone picked out to put together.  No two have ever looked alike!

Thanks for shopping with us!!

OBSESSED!!

I am thinking one of my many obsessions must be old photos.  I mean really old photos....I love to look at them and see what they are wearing!!  These are pictures of my Mom and Dad.  They were both born in the 20's. I know they are kind of hard to see but check out those outfits....

Whenever I am on the hunt for treasures at Flea Markets and Antique Shops I find myself looking through boxes for Photos.  Many of them are really scary looking(I guess it was the hard times back then)!!  Anyway, when I find nice ones like these I snatch em up.  Since they are  printed on cardboard they will stand up and lean against our old suitcases for display.   I think I will use these photos to put necklaces on display at the shows....   I'll take some pictures with them Working and post them later with some Jewelry!
So, all for Now...back to Work!
